Fruitcake and Ice Cream

How many of you like to sit back, relax, and watch a good movie? I love to. I love the entertainment industry. I love music and I love movies. A good movie, a comfy couch, some pop and popcorn, and a wife to snuggle with is all I need to enjoy a good movie. When a movie has a good plot that keeps me intrigued until the end, that does it for me. I went to college with a very talented musician who liked movies based on soundtracks. I also know someone who bases whether or not a movie is good by whether the guy gets the girl at the end of the movie. If he doesn’t, then the movie isn’t good to him. I like a good plot, but I must confess that if the movie has enough action (blood and guts), I don’t even care about the plot. Yes, I do enjoy those action movies that bypass the big screen and go straight to DVD. They are corny, but they have enough action for me.
I also enjoy watching or listening to a good challenging sermon or devotional. There are some pretty powerful ones out there, and there are also some pretty corny ones. We recently got a collection of videos by Louie Giglio of the Passion conferences. One of the videos is called Fruitcake and Ice Cream. What a title! It intrigues you though, doesn’t it?I was curious to see why it was called that. My wife and I watched this 54 minute video one afternoon while our son was napping. I don’t want to tell you too much about it, but I do know that you need to watch it. Grab a box of tissues and sit on your couch with no distractions and watch it. You will be touched; you will be changed. I know I was. Even if you have to buy the video on Amazon, it is worth the $13. Or if you want to buy the set of 4 like I did, it is definitely worth the $31. After you watch it, give it to a friend or show it to your family. I give this video a 6 out of 5 dundies on every aspect. It truly is that good.
